Automation Anywhere Unveils EnterpriseClaw for AI Agents in Businesses

Automation Anywhere has introduced EnterpriseClaw, a platform that enables organizations to deploy claw-style AI agents across various environments, including cloud platforms, desktops, and on-premises systems. Developed in collaboration with Cisco, NVIDIA, Okta, and OpenAI, this capability aims to tackle the complexities of enterprise operations that often involve distributed teams and compliance-sensitive systems.

The claw-style AI agents are designed to perform tasks within live applications and system environments, moving beyond traditional models that focused on isolated setups for individual users. Automation Anywhere CEO Mihir Shukla stressed the necessity for AI to function where work actually takes place. He remarked that while many existing agents are powerful, they often lack the necessary scope. "Many claw-style AI agents are incredibly powerful, but most were designed for isolated environments or individual users — while enterprise operations span teams, cloud platforms, desktops, on-premises systems, and highly regulated infrastructure," he stated.

Collaboration and Security Focus

This strategic partnership has Cisco providing security through its AI Defense and DefenseClaw technologies, while NVIDIA contributes with its OpenShell agent runtime and NIM microservices tailored for on-premises deployment. Okta plays a key role in managing identity and authentication across agents, ensuring that security measures are integrated for these new AI tools. DJ Sampath, senior vice president at Cisco, noted that the introduction of AI agents creates a new attack surface, making integrated security essential for enterprises adopting these technologies.

Jason Lee, head of enterprise technology at OpenAI, emphasized that the platform enables the deployment of advanced AI models like GPT-5.5 within workflows that are appropriate for regulated and mission-critical environments. This integration allows organizations to incorporate their existing agents into the platform, whether developed internally or through external frameworks, thereby enhancing operational flexibility.

Features and Future Plans

At the heart of EnterpriseClaw are Automation Anywhere's proprietary technologies: the Process Reasoning Engine and the Contextual Intelligence Graph. These innovations aim to provide agents with a more stable foundation for managing complex business processes compared to traditional language models. The platform is currently available through a preview program, with a full commercial release expected by the end of the year.

The focus on security and identity management reflects a broader trend in the industry as organizations navigate the implications of deploying AI agents in their operations. Okta's Chief Product Officer, Ely Kahn, highlighted the importance of applying the same identity governance standards that apply to human users to these AI agents, advocating for "first-class identities" in the AI domain.
