Apple’s Upcoming Siri Overhaul Signals AI Strategy Shift Ahead of Leadership Change

While Apple's existing AI tools, branded as Apple Intelligence, include features like speech translation and content searching, they have not set themselves apart from rival offerings. Many users remain unaware of the functionalities available on newer devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro, the only model currently supporting Apple Intelligence. This limitation means that around 1 billion iPhones are not yet benefiting from the technology, presenting a substantial opportunity for Apple to expand its AI influence.

As Tim Cook prepares to step down as CEO this September, the responsibility for executing this AI vision will shift to his successor, John Ternus, who has been overseeing hardware engineering. Analysts are eager to see how Ternus will navigate Apple's AI strategy in the coming years, especially as investors seek clarity on how AI will fit into the company’s long-term vision.
