Tesla Concludes Production of Model S and Model X After 14 Years

Tesla has officially ceased production of its long-standing Model S and Model X vehicles, marking an end to approximately 14 years of manufacturing. The final units left the assembly line at the Fremont, California factory around May 10, 2026, signaling a significant shift in the company's focus toward emerging technologies.

The Model S, which debuted in 2012, and the Model X, introduced in 2015, were crucial in establishing Tesla's reputation as a premium automaker. Their production helped fund the development of mass-market offerings like the Model 3 and Model Y, which now dominate sales.
