Bit Digital Inc (NASDAQ:BTBT) has unveiled its Q1 2026 earnings, showcasing a revenue of $27.9 million while emphasizing its strategic pivot towards Ethereum treasury management and artificial intelligence infrastructure. This transition is largely driven through its majority-owned subsidiary, WhiteFiber (Nasdaq: WYFI), aligning the company with two converging trends in the digital economy.
As of March 31, 2026, Bit Digital held approximately 155,444 ETH, valued at around $327 million, with a closing price of roughly $2,104 per ETH. The company has repositioned about 70,000 ETH into liquid-staked ETH, maintaining flexibility in its treasury while pursuing yield generation. CEO Sam Tabar stated that integrating Ethereum and AI compute infrastructure is essential for the future digital financial system, particularly as stablecoins and on-chain activities continue to scale globally.
Despite this strategic pivot, Bit Digital experienced a 13.6% decline in total revenue compared to Q4 2025, which reported $32.3 million. This decrease is attributed to lower contributions from cloud services, Ethereum staking, and digital asset mining. The net loss attributable to shareholders has narrowed to $146.7 million, down from $185.3 million in the prior quarter, reflecting ongoing adjustments in the valuation of digital assets.

Financial Performance and Asset Management
Bit Digital's revenue breakdown reveals a 23.9% quarter-over-quarter growth in colocation services, generating $4.8 million, bolstered by a full quarter's contribution from the MTL-3 facility. Cloud services contributed $16.8 million, while Ethereum staking revenue was reported at $2.3 million. The gross margins from these segments illustrate the effectiveness of the asset-light staking model, with Ethereum staking achieving an impressive gross margin of approximately 94.7%.
The company’s adjusted EBITDA loss for the quarter was recorded at $9.4 million. Cash and cash equivalents fell to $79.5 million from $118.4 million at the end of December 2025, indicating liquidity pressures amidst the ongoing transition.
Strategic Outlook
As Bit Digital winds down its bitcoin mining operations—describing the segment as cash flow generative yet no longer a growth priority—the company is refocusing on Ethereum and AI. Tabar emphasized that strategies for Ethereum infrastructure and AI compute capacity are intertwined, forming an integrated platform that addresses the future needs of the digital economy. He remarked, “Ethereum infrastructure will become increasingly important to the future digital financial system as stablecoins, tokenization, and on-chain settlement activity continue scaling globally.”
This pivot could position Bit Digital advantageously in the evolving realm of decentralized finance and AI applications, allowing the company to capitalize on the growing demand for Ethereum-based solutions and AI compute resources. As the company continues to refine its operational focus, stakeholders will be watching closely to see how these developments unfold in the coming quarters.
