NVIDIA and SK Group have entered a substantial partnership aimed at enhancing AI infrastructure through the development of next-generation memory solutions. This collaboration comes as demand for AI capabilities and specialized data centers continues to rise globally.

During a media briefing in Seoul, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang shared his optimism about the future of AI, stating, "We are at the beginning of building AI infrastructure, and the future is very bright." He underscored South Korea's readiness for robotics, asserting, "The era of physical AI has finally arrived, and there is no country better prepared for robotics than South Korea."

The partnership includes a major agreement with SK Hynix, NVIDIA's largest memory partner. Huang noted their long-standing relationship and confirmed that this collaboration will last for two years, with the potential for further extension. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won reiterated this commitment, emphasizing that SK Hynix will serve as NVIDIA’s primary memory supplier while NVIDIA becomes SK Hynix’s largest customer.

This collaboration extends beyond memory solutions. SK Telecom will also participate, planning to create specialized AI factories aimed at handling data-intensive AI tasks. Huang pointed out that cloud service providers worldwide are thriving, which will require substantial infrastructure developments in the coming years. This aligns with a broader trend of increasing investments in AI capabilities across different sectors.

As part of the partnership, SK Hynix will collaborate closely with NVIDIA to develop memory solutions for several major platforms, including the upcoming Vera Rubin AI platform, the Vera CPU, PC RTX Spark, and the Jetson Thor robotics computing platform. This joint effort is expected to significantly enhance the capabilities and efficiency of AI technologies.
