As artificial intelligence becomes central to business operations, enterprises are facing unprecedented costs related to cloud and AI infrastructure. Israeli-founded PointFive has responded to this challenge by announcing a $60 million Series B funding round led by Accel, with participation from Salesforce Ventures and other investors.

Founded in January 2023 by Alon Arvatz, Amir Hozez, and Gal Ben David, PointFive aims to help companies effectively manage their AI-related expenses. The startup, which has offices in Tel Aviv, London, and the United States, reported a remarkable sixfold increase in annual recurring revenue between 2024 and 2025. This new funding will be directed towards product development and expanding their market reach, particularly in the U.S.

PointFive's platform specializes in identifying inefficient spending patterns within cloud infrastructure and AI workloads. Operating in a read-only mode without requiring agents, the technology uncovers inefficiencies that traditional cost-management strategies often miss. The company claims its clients have seen an average cloud cost reduction of around 30%, with some reporting a staggering return on investment exceeding 1,000%. Notable customers include Nubank, E.ON, Hertz, Fanatics, Swiss Post, and NICE, with Nubank achieving positive ROI within just ten days of implementation.

The Growing Need for Cost Optimization

The funding announcement comes at a time when businesses are grappling with rising costs associated with AI infrastructure. The FinOps Foundation's recent report reveals that optimizing workloads and minimizing waste have become critical priorities for organizations, with 98% now actively managing their AI expenditures—up from 63% just a year prior. Philippe Botteri, a partner at Accel, highlighted the projected increase in global spending on cloud and AI, expected to rise from approximately $350 billion in 2025 to over $1 trillion by 2030.

PointFive's solutions are timely. The newly introduced AI Efficiency OS platform aims to continuously optimize cloud and AI costs by providing engineering teams with real-time insights into their workloads. It supports tailored applications and automates remedial actions, enhancing operational efficiency.

In conjunction with the AI Efficiency OS, PointFive has launched TokenShift, a tool designed to monitor and optimize the utilization of AI coding agents. This offering gives teams transparency into the consumption and governance of tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Copilot, which are essential for managing token usage effectively.

A Changing Landscape for AI Companies

Arvatz, PointFive's CEO, emphasized the need for a shift in how companies approach AI cost management. "Every company is now an AI company, and every AI company is about to get a bill it did not budget for," he stated. He criticized traditional methodologies, suggesting that merely tagging expenditures and creating dashboards is insufficient. Instead, PointFive's approach focuses on addressing inefficiencies at their source, empowering engineers to implement solutions directly.

As PointFive aims to deepen its involvement with production AI services and cloud infrastructure, the funding will also enhance its U.S. operations. The company is well-positioned to tackle the mounting challenges enterprises face as AI technologies continue to evolve and expand across various sectors. This strategic funding round not only strengthens PointFive’s capabilities but also underscores the importance of efficient AI cost management in a competitive landscape.
