As enterprises increasingly integrate AI agents into their operations, a critical question arises: how can organizations ensure rapid recovery when these agents, or malicious actors exploiting them, cause disruptions? To tackle this issue, Rubrik has launched its Agent Cloud for Anthropic's Claude, representing a notable advancement in data security capabilities unveiled during its Rubrik Forward conference in Las Vegas.

Rubrik has branded itself as the "Security and AI Operations Company," introducing a new agent-first interface across its Rubrik Security Cloud and Rubrik Agent Cloud. This innovation enables customers to specify business outcomes, with the AI platform autonomously reasoning over data, identities, and deployed agents to meet those objectives. Operating under a single agent model, the system ensures that every action taken by agents is auditable, attributable, and reversible. This patent-pending design aims to significantly reduce recovery times, transforming processes that once required human intervention over weeks into quick automated actions.

Bipul Sinha, Rubrik's co-founder and CEO, stressed the significance of this transition: "Today, Rubrik becomes an agent. Our Agentic Cyber Resilience is designed to mitigate risks from both external AI attacks and internal agent deployments. Rubrik AI will deliver agentic automation to enable resilience against machine-speed cyber breaches and compromised AI agents." This framework is intended to shield organizations from the growing risks associated with AI deployments.

Features of the Agent Cloud for Claude

The launch of the Agent Cloud for Claude features several advanced capabilities. A standout is the Semantic AI Governance Engine (SAGE), which implements real-time, intent-driven controls for autonomous agents, replacing traditional manual oversight. Another key element is the Agent Inventory, which identifies risks, access permissions, and policy violations across all deployed agents. The unique Agent Rewind feature allows organizations to reverse any unintended actions taken by agents, including those generated by Claude Code and Cowork.

To protect developer workflows, the platform introduces Codebase Resilience, which maintains continuous, immutable snapshots of GitHub and Azure DevOps repositories. This functionality ensures that if an agent or attacker forces a push that alters commit history or deletes branches, the code can be restored to an earlier, secure state. This feature specifically targets ransomware attacks aimed at code repositories. The platform also tracks configuration changes influencing the behavior of Claude agents, providing monitoring for any suspicious activity that could indicate malicious intent.

Anneka Gupta, Rubrik's chief product officer, emphasized the urgency of effective governance as organizations rapidly adopt Claude. "Organizations are adopting Claude faster than any agentic technology we have seen and every security leader asks the same question: how do we stay in control when an agent can act?" She noted that the Rubrik Agent Cloud not only provides a resilience layer for Claude but also empowers organizations to manage agent access, govern their actions, and recover both code and configuration when incidents occur.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Impact

To support the adoption of its new service among large enterprises, Rubrik has initiated Project Hourglass, a partner program that includes six global systems integrators. The partners—Cognizant, Deloitte, LTM, HCL Technologies, NTT Data, and Wipro—will resell and embed the Agent Cloud for Claude Code into their own platforms. This collaboration aims to enhance the reach of Rubrik's offerings while integrating them into existing AI frameworks, such as Cognizant’s Neuro AI platform and Deloitte’s Ascend delivery platform.

As AI technologies evolve rapidly, the stakes for cybersecurity are higher than ever. Rubrik’s initiatives reflect a proactive approach to managing the complexities introduced by autonomous agents in the enterprise. As organizations continue to expand their reliance on AI, effective mechanisms for accountability, recovery, and governance become increasingly crucial. Rubrik’s advancements in this area could reshape how businesses tackle security and operational resilience in an AI-driven future.
