Bittensor’s TAO token has surged nearly 8%, making it the top performer in the cryptocurrency market, which has seen a broader decline of 2.53% in total market capitalization over the past 24 hours. This rally follows Upbit, South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange, announcing the listing of TAO.
Upbit Listing Details
Trading for TAO will begin on February 16 at 16:00 KST, with support for three trading pairs: Korean won (KRW), Bitcoin (BTC), and Tether (USDT). Upbit confirmed that deposits and withdrawals will open approximately 90 minutes after the announcement. The exchange highlighted the importance of using the correct network for transactions, stating, "Deposits and withdrawals are supported only through the specified network (TAO – Bittensor Network). Deposits and withdrawals via EVM networks are not supported. Please verify the network before depositing."
As is standard for new listings, Upbit will enforce temporary trading restrictions. Buyers will face limitations on orders for about five minutes post-launch, and sell orders priced more than 10% below the previous day’s closing price will be blocked during this initial period. For about two hours following the listing, only limit orders will be accepted.

Market Implications
The introduction of TAO on Upbit has sparked immediate price appreciation and reinforces a common trend in the cryptocurrency space—tokens often see price increases following new exchange listings. Currently, TAO is trading at $207.6, making it the largest gainer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies listed on CoinGecko. This latest upward trend builds on the token's recent performance; TAO has gained over 21% in the past week, recovering from a predominantly downward trend earlier this year.

Analyst Outlook
Market analysts are optimistic about Bittensor's future. Michaël van de Poppe has expressed a bullish sentiment, suggesting that TAO could experience a “mean reversion” towards around $300. He remarked, "I think that protocols working on AI <> Crypto are a must have in every portfolio and I'm glad I've added funds into this position. I think that we're going to see more strength going forward from here."
Future Trajectory
The future trajectory for TAO will largely depend on whether its recent momentum can lead to sustained trading activity and buyer interest. If the overall market sentiment stabilizes and trading participation remains high, TAO may continue its upward movement, potentially extending its recovery and solidifying its position in the competitive AI-focused blockchain sector.
